CASA of the Pikes Peak Region

Beth Santiago, CASA In the 1980s, studies conducted by the Junior League of Colorado Springs revealed that child abuse victims in El Paso and Teller Counties lacked representation and advocacy. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was identified as the best solution to address this growing need, leading to the formation of a local chapter in 1989. The Junior League, along with the El Pomar Foundation, provided start-up funding for the first two years of CASA's operation. Since then, CASA of the Pikes Peak Region has been recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers who advocate for children in the 4th Judicial District (El Paso and Teller Counties). CASA’s mission is to ensure the safety and permanency of children whose lives are in turmoil. Over the past 30+ years, more than 20,000 children’s lives have been positively impacted in the Fourth Judicial District. |

Regina Walter, Senior Judge and Founder, Educating Children of Color
Judge Walter retired from the State of Colorado Judiciary in January of 2019 after 32 years on the bench. She now serves as a County Court Senior Judge. She began her judicial career in 1987 as a juvenile magistrate in the Fourth Judicial District and became a county court judge in 2008. Prior to joining the bench, she was a deputy public defender. She is a graduate of Colorado College and of the University of Tulsa School of Law

✨ Join us as we represent the Tri-Lakes Dynamic Rotary Club at The Biggest Small Town Parade in the U.S. right here in Monument! This is one of our most visible community events of the year, and we’d love your help at our booth! We need 2-3 volunteers per shift and there are three shifts throughout the day—so plenty of opportunities to jump in and be part of the fun (and still catch the parade!). Whether you're a seasoned booth pro or it’s your first time, we’d love to have you with us. It’s a great way to spread the word about Rotary, connect with the community, and celebrate the 4th in true service-above-self style!
